As a trustee and at-large member of a successful bipartisan governing body in Harris County, I play a crucial role in the approval and oversight of the department's budget (HCDE’s annual budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023is $173,474,436). Together with the team, we thoroughly review financial reports and ensure the proper allocation of funds. Additionally, serving as Chairwoman of governmental affairs, I collaborate closely with government officials, community organizations, and various stakeholders to promote and advance education in our region. Upholding legal and ethical standards in my decision-making and governance responsibilities is both my duty and a privilege.
